NCGOP seek to block Dem AG from challenging executive orders

Senate Bill 58, filed by three Republicans in the North Carolina Senate on Wednesday, would prohibit North Carolina's attorney general " currently Democrat Jeff Jackson " from making any legal argument that would invalidate "any executive order issued by the President of the United States."

Article:

This is at least the second time Republican legislators have targeted the state attorney general's powers in recent months.
In December, before Jackson entered office, the GOP-controlled General Assembly enacted a law stripping powers from several offices won by Democrats in the elections.
That bill banned the attorney general from arguing in court that anything the legislature has done is unconstitutional, or from taking stances in court that Republican legislative leaders disagree with. It also took away power that the governor and attorney general had over the state Utilities Commission " which regulates and votes on rate increases for Duke Energy and other utility companies " and either gave those powers to Republicans or eliminated them entirely.

What's next? Three-fifths citizenship papers for anyone who challenges their gawd-given right to replace the will of the people with their personal preferences? Jayzus.
