A Trump Dictatorship Won’t Happen

Dec 7, 2023 Eric Posner Although Donald Trump is many things, most of them bad, he was not a fascist when he was president, and he would not become a dictator if elected again. The power of constitutional and bureaucratic hurdles, combined with a dearth of sympathetic right-wing radicals, ensure that anarchy is more likely than tyranny. CHICAGO " Americans have worried about their presidents becoming dictators (or, in the old days, tyrants) ever since the Unites States was founded. The framers of the US Constitution understood that in classical democracies and republics, leaders often tried to seize power from legislatures and other assemblies. That is why they created a system of checks and balances on government power.

What a joke! These are the clowns who have enabled Nazi Trump/Musk! We should remember these imbeciles and blame them!

Such main stream imbeciles should never write another column for any reputable media. Can we say "enabler?"

Things are so bad the promise of that seems hopeful.

Donald is already a dictator.

He just isn't the very powerful one he seeks to be.

Let him ruin a few million people financially out of revenge or to teach as a lesson and he'll come into his own.

And, not to beat a dead horse (and no pun intended), wait until it is widely known that he kills people.

Listen, MAGA: Donald is rubbing your faces in things just as he's doing the rest of us.

He hates you, and us, because he sincerely believes that we are lower than him.

He does these bad and crazy stuff to emphasize that.

That is why they created a system of checks and balances on government power.

Not this time.

No checks or balances from the legislative branch. Which leaves only the judiciary, which Trump will ignore if his SCOTUS puts up any token resistance. That means that the legislative will have to impeach and remove him from office, which we all know it will not do.

Trump's got free reign for the next four years. And perhaps Vance for the eight that follow.

Hope those Jill Stein/Ralph Nader voters are enjoying the show. They're gonna pay the bill.
