IRS cutting workforce by 25%, eliminates Civil Rights office

"In a stark contrast to the previous administration's wildly unpopular plan to hire thousands of additional IRS agents, President Trump is focused on saving tax dollars, eliminating bloat, axing useless DEI offices, and increasing the agency's efficiency," White House spokesperson Liz Huston said to Fox News Digital.

Going from Biden hiring 87,000 to a 25% reduction. Progress...

Question; Who gets to keep all the guns and ammo the Biden administration ordered for the 87,000 new agents?

Not if you expect the last letter in the name.

BTW, the "87,000" was based on moron math.

Somebody(R) divided the appropriations by an average salary...assuming, of course, buildings, training, printing, and computer systems have no cost.

Meanwhile, the high-end division paid for itself many times over...so they'll surely get the axe.

Considering the goal was not to make the agency easier to deal with but rather allow millionaires to commit tax fraud an not get caught.

I called for a client to see how the correspondance audit was going with the auditor only to get informed that he was laid off. Now we have to start all over.

OK, I'll play.. How many others weren't afforded the luxury of doing the right thing after they were caught committing fraud and are still in prison? You're not doing yourself any favors here.

@#3 ... Meanwhile, the high-end division paid for itself many times over...so they'll surely get the axe. ...

Yup. That's why fmr Pres Biden grew that part of the IRS, to go after the wealthy tax cheats.

Now Pres Trump seems to be diminishing that particular group within the IRS (and,MAGA seems to be cheering about it), providing ~relief~ for wealthy tax cheats, while lower- and middle-class tax payers will have to pay more taxes to make up for the change.
