Wait, what?

Pres Trump has repeatedly stated that the exporting countries, e.g., China, are the ones who pay his "beautiful" tariffs.

If that is the case, then why are US companies creating these "bonded warehouses" to apparently sidestep the Trump tariffs?

And, as a follow-up question ...

How long before Pres Trump lowers himself, once again, to yet another trivial comment on his social media about this action by American businesses?

Lamp,

I get the impression the tariffs will still be owed.

How would it sidestep the tariffs?

Think of this bonded area as still property of a Chinese company just stored on US soil.

This isn't a new concept. Been going on for years.

Merchandise within those bonded areas aren't officially even sold yet.

At such time it finds a buyer, tariffs will be due.
