Trying to remember which one of the Robber Barons, maybe Jay Gould who controlled Western Union, had a direct line connected to his home so he could get info on financial matters before allowing that info to get to the general public. Needless to say, he made a bundle as a result because he magically knew when to buy and sell stocks.

Nowadays, all we need to do is pay attention to Trump's social media posts trying to manipulate the market and do the opposite.
