Chisolm loves the shoreline community. However, he said he was worried about the additional cameras changing West Haven's energy.

City leaders disagreed and said the cameras were an additional resource to help first responders.

"It's just another tool in our tool box to use," said Chief Joseph Perno, West Haven Police Department.

The cameras can be pulled up in real time and watched in the dispatch center.

"Its a live stream, right into our dispatch center, so they're not only able to see criminal activity about to happen, because its not just about reacting to activity, but they can prevent it and also life saving.
