USAG Pam Bondi Vows to Investigate Nancy Pelosi and Others

USAG Pam Bondi vowed to investigate a number of Trump's political enemies, including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, for allegedly impeding federal agents.

If Pelosi were prosecuted, it would undoubtedly embolden President Trump to target more elected officials. Right now, all that stands in the way of his revenge prosecutions is that the cases are shoddy, lack merit, and are led by inexperienced attorneys. trib.al/SywH8Qo

Investigate because of evidence?

Or, investigate because of the need to find a crime?

Show Me the Man and I'll Find You the Crime (2018)

... The famous statement attributed to Lavrentiy Beria, Stalin's secret police chief ("Show me the man and I'll find you the crime"), is the paradigmatic example of what the rule of law is not. ...

OpEd: "Show me the man and I'll find the crime"
joycevance.substack.com

... If you've been following the news since Friday afternoon, you know that Trump insisted that his own pick to be U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, Erik Seibert, be fired. Donald Trump told reporters in the Oval Office: "I want him out." His crime? He declined to manufacture evidence to bring charges against Letitia James, the New York Attorney General who successfully went after Trump's company for fraud and is leading the charge on much of the litigation states' attorneys general are bringing against the second Trump administration. The office was also reportedly handling an investigation into former FBI Director Jim Comey and declined to prosecute that case as well. By the end of the week, Seibert had resigned, although Trump claimed he'd fired him. ...

A good OpEd, worth a read, imo.
