US places sanctions on Colombian president over alleged failure to stop cartels

Verbal fights between Donald Trump and Gustavo Petro may well help Colombia's president by turning voters away from right-wing pro-Trump candidates in next year's presidential elections

Colombia President Francisco Petro and his government is doing its best to combat the powerful cocaine cartels while dealing with dangerous grievance guerillas conducting attacks against his government.

Earlier this year, President Petro remarked: "I can't go to the US anymore because I believe they took away my visa. I didn't really need a visa, but anyway, I've already seen Donald Duck [Dummkopf Trumpf] several times, so I'll go see other things."

I still think that Trump, Vlad, and Xi have already divvied up the world, and what we are seeing is Trump moving to either buy (Argentina) or invade (Venezuela, Columbia) to get a foothold in his share.

Vlad's gotten the rotten end of the deal as Europe won't go quietly, and Xi is in no hurry to take Asia and India, as they will fall to pressure.

Just a thought.

China already has huge ports at the Panama Canal (which pisses Trump off) and is building one in Peru. Trump will be lucky if he can move fast enough to keep up with Xi to keep part of South America.
Trump plans on his latest whim where Xi plans for the next century.
