DOJ Investigating Minnesota Officials

The Justice Department (DOJ) is investigating whether Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, both Democrats, impeded federal immigration enforcement through public statements they made, two people familiar with the matter told the Associated Press.

... The inquiry is focused on a potential violation of a federal conspiracy statute, the people said. They spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the pending investigation.

CNN reported that FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche arrived in Minneapolis on the same day that reports of the new investigation surfaced.
