NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) cannot enter schools or other city facilities without a judicial warrant. The Mayor added that the immigration status will not be checked for children entering NYC's free preschool programs for ages three and four. The initiative is open to all families and he emphasized that NYC remains a sanctuary city.
