A commercial about a lost dog being reunited with his family ignited concerns that a "Search Party" feature posed privacy risks. Ring parted ways with the tech company Flock Safety.

All ring cam are always active and the government can access them.

Based on what I read, you have to go in the settings and opt out for them to legally not be allowed to access them, something many ring cam users aren't aware of.
