SF mayor admits ‘city needs a reset’ hours before attack

A tense encounter turned violent in San Francisco's troubled Tenderloin neighborhood Thursday evening when Mayor Daniel Lurie's vehicle was blocked by several men, sparking an attack that left at least one security officer injured. The confrontation unfolded around 5:40 p.m. near Cedar and Polk streets, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Officers assigned to the mayor's protective detail became engaged in a physical altercation with two unidentified male suspects after the mayor's vehicle was stopped in the roadway. Video from the scene shows a security detail member being taken to the ground as officers worked to subdue the suspects. One officer sustained visible injuries during the altercation. The

So Dem Mayor is bad? Is that your point?

The Protective Service Detail (PSD) is not there to engage in attackers but to ensure the protectee is safe and to get away from the mayhem, not become part of it.

The driver of the Mayor's vehicle must have underwent Bill Scott Raceway (BSR)-type of driving to escape, U-turn, reverse out, or ram the impeding vehicle. (I underwent the BSR course decades ago).

An official report from SFPD might clarify this news report.

Let me help out Pedo Jeff because he is too stupid to read the actual article.

The Reset: It was about consolidating the city's contracting system, shortening and simplifying ballots and increasing executive accountability. It had nothing to do with crime.

The confrontation: Two dudes wouldn't move aside and got into a heated argument then fight with the mayor's security detail.

The Crime Stats: Violent Crime dropped by over 18% in 2025, with homicides down 35%. Lowest homicide rate in 70 years as violent crime rates have been dropping for years.

Hey Pedo Lover, you should try laying off the kids and instead actually read the story before posting it.

I posted it because I thought it was interesting. Nothing more. Per usual, you read WAY too much into it.

Yeah, you're right. This site has an utter lack of anti-Trump threads. It's like a barren wasteland when it comes to threads about Trump. It's so barren that y'all desperately need ME to use up my 4 thread per day allotment to create nothing but anti Trump material.

Is it anti-Trump material when American cities are unsafe?
Or is that sill Biden's fault?

You posted it because you thought it paints Dems in a bad light. No shame in it.

Blind partisan loyalty is what got the Repubs control of all three branches of government. While Dems/progressives fought amongst themselves about superpredators and whether Hillary was lefty enough.

Jill Stein 2028!

Well you can thank a closed border ....

Just look at the rise in correlation with BidenBorderBonanza! The drop started when Mexico, then Biden started his border policy changes, now in 2025 its reaching 1960's numbers.

Just so you know how much of shithole SFO is...

Mean while in San Joe ...

While interviewing Mayor Matt Mahan in downtown San Jose, a man was shouting at us and fought Mayor Mahan's security guard.
The fight lasted a couple minutes and the man was arrested by SJPD.
Police said they were compiling evidence and sending it to the DA's office/

The part of the headline where the mayor "admits" reads like an attack piece

So it got me wondering. What the Mayor was actually "admitting" to? Yhe City is too violent, or something else?

""San Francisco needs a reset. Our city charter is one of the longest in the country. It is bloated. It is broken," Lurie wrote, announcing proposed reforms aimed at consolidating the city's contracting system, shortening and simplifying ballots and increasing executive accountability."

This "admission" which reads more like a "campaign promise" has nothing to do with the unrelated thuggery.
