Saudi Arabia acknowledged that it had helped the newly forged regional military coalition " Israel, the United States, Jordan, the United Kingdom, and France " repel an Iranian attack against the Jewish state early Sunday morning. That source also charged that Iran had instigated the Gaza war, through its proxy group Hamas, to thwart US efforts for a Saudi normalization deal.
Is that what Hamas sacrificed 35,000 Gazans for, our people being slaughtered to disrupt the normalization between Saudi Arabia and Israel? It's clear since the first day of this war that Hamas and Iran view Palestinian lives as mere numbers and pawns in their political ... pic.twitter.com/PuHMMbgFkK

... @#45 ... Iran doesn't want an all out war with Israel and or the West.. ...
My view...
Iran initiated the Oct7 strike against Israel because it saw Israel and Saudi Arabia positively engaging in negotiations for a peace treaty, brokered by the US (at the time, the Biden Administration).
Iran was against that treaty, so they triggered Hamas to derail it.
Now, Iran seems to realize that following through on what it dd may not be A Good Thing for them.
Who knows what may happen next? This is the volatile Middle East. ...
OneIronTurd thinks it's no biggie that multiple Arab nations, inlcuding ones that haven't even normalized relations with Israel, helped defend Israel from an attack by a Muslim nation.
It's coming out that Saudi Arabia ... and the United Arab Emirates ... , in addition to Jordan , participated in the defense against the hundreds of missiles launched by the Islamic Republic in Iran on Saturday night. October 7th may have pushed back normalization, but the Islamic Republic in Iran's unquenchable thirst for chaos may just have put it back on course." Hen Mazzig (@HenMazzig) April 15, 2024

Today, about 85 percent of the approximately 1.6 billion Muslims around the world are Sunni, while 15 percent are Shia, according to an estimate by the Council on Foreign Relations. While Shia represent the majority of the population in Iran, Iraq, Bahrain and Azerbaijan and a plurality in Lebanon, Sunnis are the majority in more than 40 other countries, from Morocco to Indonesia.
Despite their differences, Sunni and Shia have lived alongside each other in relative peace for most of history. But starting in the late 20th century, the schism deepened, exploding into violence in many parts of the Middle East as extreme brands of Sunni and Shia Islam battle for both religious and political supremacy. ...
