SCOTUS Affirms Government Can Fact Check Social Media

The US Supreme Court, in a 6-3 decision, ruled that government agencies can request that social media companies to moderate misinformation. The three liberal justices were joined by Barrett, Kavanaugh and Roberts in overturning a lower court ruling in the case of Murthy v Missouri. The ruling, authored by Justice Barrett, found that while government communications played a role in calling attention to various content, the platforms exercised their own independent judgement in enforcing their long-standing content-moderation policies.
