Middle School bans black clothing to promote 'pride'

A Texas middle school sent a letter to parents a few days before classes began to inform them the dress code has been updated to ban all-black clothing, due to concerns about mental health and crime.

The controversy prompted the EPISD to issue a statement to the news site outlining the reasoning behind the policy change.

"Charles Middle School is updating its uniform policy to enhance students' well-being and sense of pride," the statement read.
