Un-freaking believable... dude is 79 years old and this sounds at least as good as the original.

Of course, he doesn't look the same, but he's not one of those who shoulda just stopped long ago.

Here's the whole concert:

Unfortunately, never had the opportunity to see Mr Trower in concert back in the day.

I thoroughly enjoyed, and still do enjoy, his Bridge of Sighs album. The title song is excellent.

And I remember his Procol Harum days as well.

This song, on which he plays guitar, but does not sing, was starting to show his eventual split with the group...

I saw Robin Trower on 10/8/76 at Stadthalle, Offenbach/Frankfurt, Germany (with Thin Lizzy), though I don't remember Thin Lizzy. concerts.fandom.com The venue was small much like a basketball gym. We had floor seat about 20 feet in front of stage left. eventseeker.com This is the album released in '76 and likely the tour I saw. www.google.com

I'm sure of the venue and its feel because I saw Crosby, Still & Nash in the same venue on 9/19/76. www.setlist.fm Our seats were literally the pull out bleacher seating seen in school gyms. BTW David Crosby is an a*****e.

@#7 ... I'm sure of the venue and its feel because ...

Yeah, I have a similar "feel" for the performances (I am reluctant to call them "concerts" for such an intimate setting) that I attended at Toad's Place.

Ditto for the performances I attended at the Nightshift Cafe (on Rubber Avenue) in Naugatuck, CT back in the day.

Fond memories that bring a smile to my face.

OK, I looked into my tunes accumulation, and I found that I have a 96/24 version of Bridge of Sighs., which is current playing.

The meaning of the song? From what I have learned over the years (decades)...

Bridge of Sighs
en.wikipedia.org

... The Bridge of Sighs (Italian: Ponte dei Sospiri, Venetian: Ponte de i Sospiri) is a bridge in Venice, Italy. The enclosed bridge is made of white limestone, has windows with stone bars, passes over the Rio di Palazzo, and connects the New Prison (Prigioni Nuove) to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace. It was designed by Antonio Contino, whose uncle Antonio da Ponte designed the Rialto Bridge. It was built in 1600.[1]

Etymology

The view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment. The bridge's English name was bestowed by Lord Byron in the 19th century as a translation from the Italian "Ponte dei sospiri",[2][3] from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice through the window before being taken down to their cells.[4][5] ...

One thing I especially enjoy while listening to that song is the solo by Mary Sterpka about halfway through the song..

Her brief solo is awesome.
