this country is a mirror to the world we reflect every shade of Flesh and fantasy every hope and dream every faith and tongue every belief and philosophy that is found on this Earth
our country encompasses the entire human spectacle from the beastial to the noble from the Grim to the Grand from the prosaic to the Mythic from The Bleak to the Beautiful from the Forgotten to the remembered
if all of mankind were to dream the same dream this country would be its dream it is this panopoly of existence that gives us our inordinate strength while it creates for us our greatest burden
this is the grandest contradiction of our country one of but a myriad of millions under which we find ourselves now straining
it has made our language seem senseless and our lives feel numb it is why our streets are filled with pain and our skies are choked with smoke
it is why we honor the selfish while casting out the poor it is why we are caught in a nightmare and yet refuse to wake up
but we must every so often each of us in our way has to ask ourselves why we make the choices we choose to make
that's what binds us together as a people that is the joy of our democracy and the greatest form of its celebration is the vote or the opportunity to make that choice and by making that choice we awaken and begin a new our dream
