Beijing: JD Vance “Ignorant” Over "Peasants" Comment

JD Vance's comments referring to Chinese nationals as "peasants" ignited a firestorm of criticism in China. The remark was denounced by the Chinese Foreign Ministry as "ignorant and impolite." Chinese social media erupted with outrage, with users demanding an apology and some calling for Vance to be banned from entering China. Chinese social media users also highlighted the irony of Vance's comments, given his working-class background detailed in his memoir "Hillbilly Elegy." Usha Vance's family hail from the upper caste in India, way above the peasants, masses, and Dalits.

It's really quite stunning, the sheer tonnage of ----- pols churned out by Ivy League schools.
Were these creatures ignoramic sociopaths before showing up on campus?
Or was there something about the experience that accentuated a predisposition to -----ry?

#1: Great question, looking at Ron DeSatan, "Dubya", Bibi Netanyahu, Brett Kavanaugh, Trumpf ad nauseum. Former President Joe Biden once told friends that the "river of power ... flows from the Ivy League" www.thedp.com

I suspect it has more than a little to do with ego. People in the Ivies do tend to think of themselves (often quite erroneously) as picks of the crop. They network like crazy. And reassure one another with closed feedback loops. Pretty soon, they believe their own propaganda.

Just think of how often Trump has touted his non -Ivy Wharton undergrad classes as meaning he went Ivy League. He didn't but he thinks he needs it.

Pathetic.

#3: Good point. The networking portion is critical for the Ivy Leaguers to maintain the status quo and look after each other. D/FBI Christopher Wray and "W" Bush took excellent care of fellow Eli Brett Kavanaugh with a cushy position as WH Staff Secretary, then federal judge, followed by a softball FBI background investigation, allowing beer-swilling Kavanaugh to slink in to the highest court of the land: img.buzzfeed.com

Wealthy white privilege in America must be nice. I'll have to try it some time.

JD comes across as quite a phony when he can't even figure out how to properly lift the very trophy that every good ol' boy and young white MAGA male dreams of lifting in their Trevor Lawrence-inspired fantasies. Made me cringe, and I haven't followed NCAA-F (or the NFL) since the astroturf era.
