Flooding Continues on Lower Mississippi River

A new round of heavy rain will target some of the same areas of the central US that were swamped by flooding multiple times earlier in April. Historic rainfall occurred over portions of the Tennessee, Ohio and middle Mississippi valleys. Runoff from that rain is just now surging through the lowest portion of the Mississippi River and will lead to moderate to high flood levels in some areas, including Baton Rouge, LA.

DOGE and the Trumpf junta slashed the FEMA budget which benefits more the people in the Red States than the Blue States. Trumpf already turned down the Arkansas governor's plea for assistance after tornados devastated the home state of former POTUS Bill Clinton. Republicans that voted for Trumpf last year shot themselves in the foot with both barrels of a 12-gauge shotgun.

Good. As a resident of CA I already expect no help from the feds in an emergency. I don't want my tax dollars to go to welfare states.

Just in time for the pulse of snowmelt coming from the north.

Flooding is good. Everyone knows the story about fertile land around the Mississippi. If we allowed the river to flood as it should, we wouldn't need to dump enough nitrogen on our crops to turn people blue and cause a large deadzone in the Gulf.

Of course, we don't need to dump the N, we just do because it's cheap. Obviously, there comes a point where more fertilizer doesn't equal more production.

How high's the water Mama?!

Doesn't Lewzer have a giant faucet to divert the water to LA? Why waste all that beautiful water by letting it just run into the Gulf of Mexico?
