Federal Judge Allows Trump to Use IRS Data to Track Illegals

A federal judge won't block a controversial Trump administration initiative to share highly sensitive taxpayer information with federal immigration authorities in hopes of tracking down undocumented immigrants and quickly deporting them out of the country.

A federal judge refused to block the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) from sharing information about migrants living in the country illegally with immigration authorities.

They're tracking down immigrants who are paying taxes?

Stupid stupid stupid.

Meanwhile. Let's gift billionaires with a $5 trillion dollar tax cut.

This is about as beneficial to the country as when Germany rounded up the Jews. In other words, no benefit at all and a huge waste of money.

Republicans, why doesn't that matter to you?

How do you think you are benefiting from this?

How do you think you are benefiting from this?

It's not about benefiting the nation.

It's about punishing the nation.

It's about cruelty.

They won't even deny it.

They traded in "land of the free, home of the brave."

For a boot on the neck.

Trump admin allowed to use taxpayer info for criminal' immigration enforcement, judge rules

"The Court agrees that requesting and receiving information for civil enforcement purposes would constitute a cognizable injury, but none of the organizations have established that such an injury is imminent," Friedrich wrote in a memorandum opinion and order.

"As the plaintiffs acknowledge, the Memorandum only allows sharing information for criminal investigations," she added. "The Court cannot assume that DHS intends to use the shared information to facilitate civil rather than criminal proceedings."

So, nothing new or different.

"The judge "made it clear that DHS and IRS must comply strictly with the limited exception on which they relied," Morrison said in a statement."

Or what, judge?
A stern warning?

With zero consequence for failing strict compliance, DHS will surely use this information in civil cases.

Your current alias seems to be arguing the point the Democrats have been making, and fmr Pres Biden enacted ....

That the IRS needs more funding to go after the big tax cheats, a.k.a., the wealthy.

So, if that's the case, then why did DOGE take the chain saw to the IRS enforcement ability?

Does your current alias support DOGE's effort to gut the IRS enforcement ability?

"but you don't want them to discover theft of hundreds of thousands"

No that's Trump.

DOGE fired the IRS employees who go after rich people who cheat on their taxes.

Those people bring in $7 for every $1 Uncle Sam pays them.

Then there's this ...

Trump Officials Resist Sharing How Venezuelan Migrants Tagged as Gangsters
www.bloomberg.com

... The Trump administration doesn't want to reveal how it came to allege that some New York City-area Venezuelans it is seeking to deport are members of the Tren de Aragua gang.

Justice Department lawyers asked a court late Tuesday not to require them to disclose how the alleged gang membership was established. They said in a filing[1] that releasing the information from "Alien Enemy Validation" forms would "implicate sensitive law enforcement determinations." ...

=====
1 - www.bloomberglaw.com

... The only outstanding issue is whether Respondents must provide internal "Alien Enemy Validation" Forms explaining the Department of Homeland Security's determination that individual aliens are members of Tren de Aragua (Tda). These forms implicate sensitive law enforcement determinations that should not be shared lightly. Petitioners seek this information to understand the Department's basis for designating them as TdA members. But that is irrelevant at this stage. ...

@#11

So, the Trump admin has no evidence to present?

#12 | Posted by LampLighter at 2025-05-14 09:57 PM

"implicate sensitive law enforcement determinations."

They'll make any excuse they can think of.

It's the Deny Defund Depose administration.

"These forms implicate sensitive law enforcement determinations that should not be shared lightly"

This is like asking for a warrant, telling the judge you can't say what you're looking for, but he should just give it to you anyway.

#14 | Posted by snoofy at 2025-05-14 10:26 PM

@#13 ... They'll make any excuse they can think of. ...

That seems to be the case here.

Also, likely a reason why the Trump admin is talking about suspending Habeas Corpus.

The Trump admin seems to know they have no evidence to present.

This wealthy "Trump conservative," who makes millions a year as owner of multiple large scale bars with music on Nashville's Lower Broadway, a main tourist destination, evidently hires undocumented "illegals" who fled in droves when ICE showed up. Smith's picture must be in the dictionary next to "hypocrite."

Kitchens Close to Avoid ICE at Steve Smith's Broadway Bars

Downtown kitchens shuttered over the weekend to avoid immigration agents in at least three locations owned by conservative restaurateur Steve Smith.

Smith, the wealthy owner of Broadway establishments including Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and Rippy's, has been a public conservative presence in Nashville, notably mounting local opposition to COVID-related restrictions on public gatherings. He's also a Trump supporter and donor. Recent panic at his restaurants indicates that his own Broadway empire " and the wealth it has generated " relies directly on employing immigrants not authorized to work in the United States.

@#16

Yeah.

As i have stated quite a few times in the past ...

If you are in the Country illegally, you should be deported. But with that opinion comes a caveat, what will the effect upon the economy be, and maybe we should look first at that effect before the deportations start.
