A manhunt is underway in Tennessee for Austin Robert Drummond (28), who allegedly killed James M. Wilson (21), Adrianna Williams (20), Cortney Rose (38) and Braydon Williams (15). The four were found in Tiptonville, TN, located roughly 125 miles from Memphis. The four victims were family members of Drummond's current girlfriend. Rose and Adrianna are half-sisters, and both of Williams' siblings are her nephew and niece. The killings have been linked to the discovery of an infant found in a car seat on the lawn of a "random" person's house.
In an average year, 1,404 people die and 3,385 are wounded by guns in Tennessee, which has the 7th-highest rate of gun violence in the US. Tennessee firearm licenses in 2021: 151,536; 51.6% of adults from the Volunteer State have guns in their homes. Nationally, every eleven minutes someone in America is murdered with a firearm. In 2022, 48,000 Americans were killed by someone with a firearm, resulting in wartime casualty rates without a foreign invasion. Worse, the NIMH reports that one in six Americans are suffering from some sort of mental illness. Link: NIMH
