Trump Canceled 94 Million Pounds of Food Aid

ProPublica obtained records from the Department of Agriculture that detail the millions of pounds of food, down to the number of eggs, that never reached food banks because of the administration's cuts.

More

Records obtained by ProPublica indicate that food banks across the country were expecting more than 27 million pounds of chicken, 2 million gallons of milk, 10 million pounds of dried fruit and 60 million eggs that never arrived.

Despoil the Commons so a few -------- get richer...

Attempt to Subvert the law to attain total control of the economy and all three branches of government...

Attempt to Use the Power of the State to Persecute private individuals that annoy him...

Trump is a Mad Dog.

He needs to be Put Down...

Politically Of Course.

We're a Nation of Laws, not Men.

Or are We?

Instead of paying farmers for food which could then be used to feed struggling Americans we are instead going to let some farmers fail while we have a sham bailout where most of the money goes to Big Agribiz.

This is more of BillJohnson's Christian values.

We need that foo here because AOC and other dems have enlightened us to the fact that the only reason may are robbing stores ais because they need food...

MSgt,
You'd rather they rob the stores, so your boys can send them to prison.
That's a better outcome for you.
Poverty so extreme it causes a crime wave and justifies an authoritarian crackdown.
That's the plan, and you're all for it.

The gov't works out deals with food producers and distributors for a certain amount of food.

The farmers like it, because they might get less than market value during some years, but they might get above market in other years. It takes away some of the market uncertainty. Farmers don't like uncertainty. We get to support our farmers, and imo, encourage them to grow something besides corn and soybeans.

The distribution, including transportation, is also good for jobs.

The people getting the food can be more engaged in the broader economy. They might even be able to buy, dare I say it, things outside of just for necessity to live.

Whether MAGA likes it or not, government can produce value. This is a great example of how multiple demographics and economic sectors and benefit from government spending.

Plus, it's such a lame thing to attack. Taking food from the poor, wtf? That's disgracieful.

That's nothing. Dems refuse to spend money helping the homeless because they want to spend money on illegal immigrants. They want homeless people to stay homeless while they divert that money to facilities and workers to manage the open borders they so desperately want.

Sucks when politicians do this. It sucks even more when a party does it but then whines and cries like babies when the other party does it, too.
