Tropical Storm Dexter pops up in the Atlantic

Maximum winds are estimated to be 40 kt based on a very recent ASCAT pass, and the cyclone is therefore being designated as Tropical Storm Dexter.

Yeah, it looks to be going out to the fishes, as the local forecasters here like to say.

There's a high pressure system that has dropped in from Canada, that looks to push that tropical storm out to the mid-atlantic.

Meanwhile, because of that high pressure system, I've been enjoying nighttime low temps in the mid-50's.

So, the air conditioners have had a much-deserved rest.

Yep. Interesting 3 systems popped up at the same time today.

@#2 ... Interesting 3 systems popped up at the same time today. ...

Well, it is that time of the year.

Here in CT, we don't usually see hurricanes that concern us until late September or October.

Emphasis upon "usually."
