The United States space agency has pioneered planetary science technologies as the world's leader in climate research for more than 40 years, but that may be about to change. NASA's acting Administrator Sean Duffy says the agency will step back from climate science to focus on space exploration " highlighting a growing shift in the agency's overall mission.
Duffy said NASA's purpose is the exploration of space " not Earth's climate. "All of the climate science and all of the other priorities that the last administration had at NASA, we're going to move aside," "All of the science that we do is going to be directed towards exploration, which is the mission of NASA. That's why we have NASA, is to explore, not to do all of these earth sciences," he said.
