"SUBJECT: Grooming Standards for Facial Hair: The grooming standard set by the US military is to be clean shaven and neat in presentation for a proper military appearance. When authorizing individual exceptions, commanders must apply consistent criteria and appropriately consider the Department's interests in safety and uniformity. Effective immediately, I am directing all the Military Departments to implement the following minimum requirements concerning medical exceptions to the grooming standards requiring Service members to be clean shaven: Military medical officers will provide a written recommendation concerning a shaving waiver to the commander who is the final approval authority. Service members with an approved shaving waiver will participate in a medical treatment plan. Unit commanders will initiate separation of Service members who require a shaving waiver after more than one year of medical treatment."
Pseudofolliculitis barbae leads to unwanted bumps and painful ingrown hair from frequent shaving. About 60% of Black men are affected by this condition (AKA "razor bumps.") Exemptions used to be granted from shaving based on religious reasons. Per USSECDEF Pete "Hic!" Kegsbreath, Service members who require a medical shaving waiver for more than one year must be separated from the military. Nota Bene: Last century I met a full-bearded Jewish US Army Chaplain (Rabbi) and until 1986, the USCG allowed their personnel to grow beards. To maintain appearance standards, I kept a disposable Bic razor in my BDUs and would dry shave late in the day or evening. This sinister contrivance is just another way for the diabolical Trumpf junta to continue bleaching America by purging Service members of color from the "Department of War."
