ICE Deports Man Wearing Hat: 'Proud Dad of a US Marine'

US Marine Steve Rios said his father was deported after both his parents were detained last month by ICE while at Camp Pendleton, CA. Esteban Rios and Luisa Rodriguez were picking up his pregnant younger sister, Ashley, and her husband, who is also a US Marine, at the enormous West Coast base on 28 Sep, just like they had done every weekend for the past few months while expecting their first grandchild.

The parents were initially taken into custody on base and later released with ankle monitors, before being detained again.

And this - and missing paychecks - is how they will lose the support of the military.

I could envision retired USMC General James Mattis polishing and cleaning a pistol or two while chatting about today's sad state of affairs with former Marines and colleagues like retired US Army Generals Stanley McChrystal and H. R. McMaster, intermingled with former DIA personnel, as well as some cashiered CIA officers and retired FBI agents.

Again, if the feds want to make a strong point, the best way to do that is to hold large employers to the law, and fine or arrest those who break the law. America intentionally had a porous border after the Bracero Program was stopped in 1964, otherwise crops wouldn't have been picked.
Or, of course, farm employers could have paid more for legal immigrants and citizens to do the work, but those coming through that porous border didn't cause trouble, they didn't cause field strikes.

Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell (83) fell to the ground in a Capitol hallway Thursday afternoon. McConnell fell to the floor while two volunteers from the environmental advocacy group Sunrise Movement approached the dinosaur and asked him a question about "ICE kidnappings" when he tumbled to the floor. McConnell did not respond to the question.

The senator seemed unsteady, but got up and kept walking with the help of his detail. He then waved to the two individuals who were questioning him. The Senate was taking a series of votes related to the Republ0can Party's government shutdown, now on its 16th day:abcnews.go.com
