It was nice belonging within a country, my country, the United States, when it did peaceful and useful things around the globe, when it cared about the poor and powerless right here at home. Now, I live in a country that is led by some terrible human beings, war criminals who murder at will for their own personal profit, and along the way, they are bankrupting the treasury by insanely large tax cuts for the billionaire caste.

Shades of the Vietnam War years, as we, yes, woke, to the fact that the war was engaged in without properly looking at the fact it was a civil war to defend the people against the colonial aggressor, in that case, the French Catholics, and in the case of the Iran war...not the clerics, but by killing all the Iranian leaders, all we did was consolidate the people into fighting the US. This is an illegal war in Iran, and our murder of those leaders was a war crime, and not getting Congressional Approval made the war quite illegal.

All I know is that for the first time in my long life, Comcast offered me near gigabit speeds, and I indulged and it is quite wonderful. If it is possible to offer over cable wires, the great majority of Americans are able to have it, and the feds are just being...wrong.

Only two choices for how the future goes, either we devolve into being a fascist, banana republic state where the super rich dominate, as in Russia, or we evolve into a country where all share in the wealth and have access to a great medical system and have decent housing.

Ah, the rule of law...I love the optimism shown...one can appeal to the courts for justice. Imagine a world where the rule of law held power, where America would have had to go to an international court to fight Iran, rather than commit the war crime of murdering over 80 of its leaders.

Oh, many of us out here know full and well we are not in control of out government, of our country...them's with the big bucks own both. But we get a chance to cast our tiny vote in November, and then in 2028, and one hopes a lot of tiny votes unite to de-elect the damn quisling Republican Party.

I just watched a small video of Abdul El-Sayed explaining Medicare for All. Sure makes sense to me...would be a relief for tens of millions of Americans.

I wonder if MAGA would like to weigh in and explain the rationality behind our support of the apartheid nation, Israel, as if it is our 51st state, and them maybe explain that sneak attack that murdered over 80 of the Iranian leaders, meeting at our direction to hammer out another agreement.

I just spent a quiet moment or two delightedly daydreaming about America rationally taking all of its forces, and money, out of the insane asylum called the Middle East, and having a foreign policy of "tending to our own knitting", to use an olden phrase.
We are, more and more, looking as the Soviet Union looked as it fell, and it could no longer pay the electricity bill for its military bases and it couldn't afford to keep a fleet roaming the seas.
We are, as they were, led by senility and criminality, and our oligarchs are looting the treasury, in effect.
