Trump learned his lesson in his first term...don't hire competent, courageous people like James Mattis to run the Defense Department or honest people like John Kelly to be his Chief of Staff, because they will find a way to stop him from strutting about as dictator. Trump is just practicing for when he really does call for Martial Law and the cessation of elections in places where there are a lot of Black and Brown voters. There is a reason both his Chief of Staff Kelly and his Secretary of Defense James Mattis said that Trump was "fascist to his core".

As one who lived homeless for years, on the street and in rescue missions...life at the bottom is so bad, so painful, I would vote to make death with dignity laws available, on a voluntary basis, to those with degenerating diseases including dementia, and for those of us over 70...it is a human right to control our lives, and life at the bottom is pretty much the definition of hell on earth.
It is a deliberate choice, for the far right Republican Party, to pretty much work to push the poor and the powerless onto those ice floes...Look at what they are trying to do to what health care we do have, what housing we do have....

Let us be clear, the rich and powerful have universal health care...they matter, we don't. We on the bottom third of the economic pyramid are half citizens, as America is run from corporate boardrooms, and there is little profit in giving a damn about us. Half citizens count, at best, at half of what the rich count as. My vote counts, but I cannot afford to buy a President and put him into office, as Musk and some other rich fools did for Trump, thanks to Citizens' United and our sold out federal Supreme Court.

It is clear our planet has several important decisions, and one of the most important is whether we all will live together in peace, or will we live in a world where wars of aggression and ethnic cleansing are just how the powerful run things.
I wouldn't bet on us getting it right any time soon.

And Trump is working to get the damn federal Supreme Court to let him outlaw vote by mail, as when you give the people a way to vote that helps them to cast their ballot, Republican Party candidates tend to lose.

And I would advise our military officers, especially those in the army and marine corps, to get good advice in regards to what constitutes an illegal order, and what responsibility an officer has to refuse to follow such an illegal order. It is a war crime to extralegally kill a suspect, for example.

Pure politics...the Church, as it likes to be known, is losing power in the world, and so needs young people in the pews. There was nothing in his background to even suggest a "miracle".
I find myself quite grateful for my atheist, which lets me look at all this and see if for what it is, just another con game to gain wealth and power. The Vatican is a foreign nation, and its paid employees in the US should have to register as Foreign Agents. I look at the far right fanatic Catholics that Trump installed on our federal Supreme Court to take down our First Amendment rights, and I fear for the future of our democracy.

Sitting here trying to think of even one thing that Trump has done for the poor and the powerless...one thing. He said previously that the very rich are his people, they are who he was running for. For them, I can think of many things he has done to enrich the rich.

If NATO ever goes into a major conflict with Trump as Commander in Chief, and Hegseth running Defense...against Putin who Trump regards as a buddy...yeah, if I were France I would be working toward surviving a war against the "vengeful runt" as Navalny called Putin.

All this does point to a real danger point when the midterms arrive...if Trump needs a violent mob to kill and loot...He can then declare Martial Law to stop the mob he created...
