Veterans to Troops: Resist Trump's Occupation Orders

Former US Army CPT Rob Cheng spent his Veteran's Day fighting a cold wind and freezing temperatures to urge National Guardsmen from red states and even ICE agents to resist and reject orders to occupy the nation's cities.

As part of a national "Vets Say No" day of protest, Baltimore veterans who represent several military branches and span decades of service gathered at War Memorial Plaza in opposition to the president's deployment of the National Guard to U.S. cities.

We all know it is going to happen, sooner rather than later, as Trump works to find a way to declare Martial Law and so use troops to intimidate voters, or to stop the voting in certain states like Oregon which has total vote by mail.
I strongly believe in the civilian control of our massive military, but of course, that does mean that if our civilians in control are greedy corrupt thugs...our democracy goes down the tubes thanks to the Trump voters.

I don't think I would ever advise any enlisted man to disobey orders short of the extremist orders imaginable, such as firing on civilians.

Depends on the circumstances, of course. But, as a sandbox exercise my guess is, unfortunately, the vast majority of enlisted personnel would follow much of the junior officer corps and almost certainly err on the side of obeying orders.
