NEW: The Jack Smith deposition transcript is a devastating, point-by-point rebuttal to claims that the Trump prosecutions were "political," as Smith details evidence of Trump's crimes "beyond a reasonable doubt."

"The decision to bring charges against President Trump was mine, but the basis for nine of those charges rests entirely with President Trump and his actions, as alleged in the 10 indictments returned by grand juries in two different districts," Smith told the committee.

"This was not a case where we needed more witnesses," Smith testified. "It was a case where we needed to be able to present the case in a streamlined way because there was so much evidence."

"7 takeaways from Jack Smith's congressional testimony

The New Year's Eve transcript release buries details from the former special counsel's investigation into Donald Trump.

Smith built his case around Trump's allies

Some of Smith's most substantive testimony centered on his never-implemented trial strategy: using Republicans who believed in Trump to make the case against him.

"The president was preying on the party allegiance of people who supported him," Smith said. "The evidence that I felt was most powerful was the evidence that came from people in his own party who ... put country before party and were willing to tell the truth to him, even though it could mean trouble for them."

Jack Smith is forbidden by corrupt Judge Cannon for now, to discuss the really big crimes Trump committed with the classified documents- espionage. This exchange from Smith's House testimony shows he's holding back something huge. Smith already said in an Oct 23 court filing that he knew what Trump was doing with the classified docs and would prove it in court. Well the answer is in Smith's final report that being hidden by Cannon, and it destroys Trump. Obviously Trump shared or sold classified docs with US adversaries.
