Forty-four people were evaluated and two were hospitalized with respiratory issues after one million gallons of sulfuric acid leaked at a facility near the Houston Ship Channel which is now being monitored for environmental damage, threats to aquatic life, and water quality.
Air and water quality were being monitored Saturday after about 1 million gallons of sulfuric acid was released into the Houston Ship Channel, according to Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo.
