68-year-old Palestinian Sabriya Shamasneh was beaten to death by Israeli soldiers during a raid on her home in the town of Jayyous, in the northern occupied West Bank.
Israeli Atrocities Against Palestinians is Nothing New
IDF soldiers stormed the house of Sabriya Shamasneh in the early hours of Tuesday morning, conducting an aggressive search and interrogating the family.Since 1948 under both Democratic and Republican Party administrations, the peace-loving, hardworking American taxpayer has sent the Labor and Likud governments of Israel, a prosperous and nuclear-armed country, $317.9bn, the most US economic aid given to any nation in the world. Americans are thrilled that Israel has world class universal healthcare for its residents while the US averages over 630,000 medical bankruptcies a year.
At one point, Sabriya attempted to move and called out to her son Hassan, fearing he had been arrested. The Israeli soldiers responded by shoving her violently with their rifles, knocking her to the ground and shouting at her to be quiet.
The elderly woman's head struck the wall, causing her to lose consciousness. Her husband panicked, shouting and pleading with the soldiers to help, but they callously refused.
After the IDF soldiers left empty-handed, Sabriya's husband and son rushed her to Darwish Nazzal Governmental Hospital in Qalqilya. A heavy presence of Israeli military vehicles had prevented an ambulance from reaching the scene.
