Trump Draws Marie Antoinette Comparisons

President Donald Trump is more overtly leaning into some of the spoils of his office in his second term, drawing comparisons to French Queen Marie Antoinette from political opponents.

Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom, a potential 2028 presidential hopeful, has been more direct in comparing Trump to the last queen before the French Revolution, who has come to embody extravagant opulence -- even posting an AI-generated image of Trump's face on her body on social media.

Marie Antoinette was much easier on the eyes and, considering she was a Parisian who rarely, if ever, bathed, smelled considerably better than Donald Trump.
