I know some local Army Reservists who were activated to support this event. The general vibe is that the parade part of this show is the most high-vis, low-preparation evolution they've ever been voluntold to perform.
Other aspects of the 250th Army Birthday celebration, such as the static displays and PR pieces, have been in the plans for well over a year.
I'm hoping the folks stay safe and dry out there today - I'll be viewing from home as D.C. streets are a cluster on a normal day without road closures and checkpoints.
Excellent work, DOGE! /sarcasm
One of my favorite critiques of VOA is "Oh my, this is a state-sponsored media outlet. Why does the USA have such an organization?"
It is important to penetrate the media landscape in local languages to offer alternative perspectives on current events. This is doubly important in media-insular areas.
