I was never on SNAP.

When my dad was almost killed by a drunk driver we landed on food stamps until he could get back to work.

Let me tell you, people on SNAP are not buying lobster and filet as those benefits are a set dollar amount per week and if you use it up on one meal you don't eat for the remainder of the week. It barely buys the bare necessities to survive. Name brand baloney is too expensive for it.

From a decision calculus standpoint, China has to know that it's prosperity is tethered to western markets. And invasion of Taiwan, even if it were successful, would result in the country becoming economically isolated from western markets in the same way Russia has been. Only worse, because China exports finished goods, not energy products.
