I'm just thinking that bigger things are at stake. My hypothesis is that Putin doesn't want to destroy Trump. They're going to need each other later on. Which I outlined in my #13.

I think they're both lurking until Trump is in a political position to join Russia in carrying out their ultimate goal.

Right now, you've got to admit that Trump is doing everything he can to destroy democracy which Putin has already accomplished in Russia. Trump has some catching up to do but he's working on it.

Trump and Putin are both power hungry 'control freaks.' I'm thinking that this unholy BFF relationship is a prelude to their ultimate goal . . . to split up the hemispheres and jointly control the world's economy and thus, control the world. Maybe with China as a silent partner.

Trump is just trying to drag everything out until after the midterms when he's counting on having that Unitary Executive title in his pocket and he doesn't have to worry about 2028.

We don't know what went on behind that closed door meeting, but it does appear that this whole summit thing (1 on 1 with Trump, red carpet, ride in the "Beast," etc.) was merely to boost Putin/Russia out of their isolationist reputation.

Trump did get one thing, though. At least the media isn't talking about Epstein while they're performing an autopsy in this fake summer meeting to confirm that Trump is the consummate dirty-trickster.

There's an air of Doom hanging over this meeting. Putin is arriving, not only with his own superior intellect and acute knowledge of the situation but with his battle worn staff of experts.

He announced that if he doesn't hear what he wants from Putin within the first two minutes, he will walk out ~~ and hold his own press conference single-o.

Somebody has probably put a bug in Trump's ear that this meeting with Putin could be an embarrassing trap and he should be ready to bolt for the door.

That's Zalensky's Achilles heel. That and being dependent on the traitorous mindset of Donald Trump and especially lily-livered accomplices in Congress who would sell their own country down the drain for fear of retaliation. There's not a GOP man-sack in the bunch. Right now, they're all just a bunch of frightened eunuchs, willing to go-along to git-along, the future of democracy be damned.

Trump is just preparing the public for failure by announcing in advance that his only intent is to "set the table" for a future meeting. My guess is that's he already floated the barter idea and knows Putin's response is negative.

As usual, Trump came home empty handed ~ with only a deal to "set the table" (his words) for another meeting. Which is euphemism for ABJECT FAILURE.

I take it that Mr. Putin wasn't impressed with Trump's attempt to barter FUTURE military support for Russia's floundering invasion of Ukraine in exchange for the help Trump needs NOW to get his Nobel Peace prize.

You could say that was supposed to be his original job in his first term. Then having failed to abandon NATO, and having failed to overturn the 2020 election, plus concentrating almost exclusively on his revenge list, Trump is now trying to straddle the fence with Putin and getting blisters in his butt in the process.

By meeting with Putin, face-to-face, Trump has probably blown every once of credibility he ever had. It's pretty obvious that Trump is out of his league. I think Putin will play him like a cheap fiddle and Trump will come home with his tail between his legs, much like Helsinki.

With nothing to show for the effort except big talk.

Actually, this peace decision is between Putin and Zelenski. Trump is just trying to stick his nose in the process in hopes he can claim some credit for a Nobel Peace prize.

Obviously, Trump needs rosy numbers as proof positive that his policies are working and that he is indeed worthy of appointing himself the title of America's first Unitary Executive, per stirpes. (should he be declared by three independent physicians that he is incapable of carrying out his duties.

When Trump is through writing his own fake numbers he will declare that they are the bestest numbers the world have even seen.

Also, Putin and Trump share another common obstacle (other than encroaching age) ~ they're both running out of time to achieve their separate goals. With Trump being the more desperate of the two.
