Rumors, inuendo and personal opinions about a promise of a seat on the Supreme Court won't hold up in court.

It's going to take a majority with a conscience in the Senate to rid the judicial system of this miscreant. If Trump nominates Cannon, the Senate has the only personal opinion that counts.

Trump does have a history of using and abusing his most ardent female supporters. Her fate may be determined on whether Jack Smith can get her ruling overturned on appeal by the 11th Circuit. The odds are Smith will succeed, based on Cannen's opinion that Jack Sith's appointment as Special Council was unconstitutional and therefore, illegal.

If Cannon gets overturned that's the point when Trump will throw her on the scrap heap. Maybe not immediately but, esentially, her career will be in the dumpster.

If you all recall, Trump doesn't like losers.

I have a doubt. I doubt that even if Alito resigned today Trump would still not be able to browbeat enough Republican Senators to confirm Judge Cannon.

Some who can are already jumping ship because of Trump's declining approval numbers . . . at last report have dropped into the teens.

Cannon still thinks Trump is going to show his gratitude by appointing her to the U.S. Supreme Court.

But there's only 8 months to go before he loses support in the Senate and she can't get confirmed. Plus, Alito has to be the sacrificial goat.

Nonetheless, and knowing Trump's penchant for lying when it's easier to tell the truth, my guess is this announcement was made purely for effect. He wants to change his image from a ruthless murderer to a humanitarian.

Once again, on topic, it's possible that the Supremes feel that Trump is treating the overthrow of a democratic republic like it's a sprint. The Supremes know, in fact, it's going to be a long and arduous trip.

I'm not convinced the Supremes have turned over a new leaf yet.

They're known to have as many ulterior motives as Trump himself. This could be a means of shortening the leash on a President who wasn't smart enough to know he was blowing the whole "Plan" apart with his illconceived, ego-driven, bombastic rush to autocracy.

IOW, the death of democracy is a long haul project. An ego-driven Trump was treating it like a sprint.

By now most of those fools who believed Trump's lies are regretting the huge mistake they made in 2024. Thus, Trump's poll numbers have reached the impeachment stage. If that fails after the midterms, we won't have to worry about an election in 2028 because there won't be one ~~ at least not one that we'd recognize or one that leaves the opposition candidate alive.

So far, we haven't even seen the depth of Donald's depravity yet.

A better idea would be to help these underdeveloped countries rid themselves of the reason their citizens feel the need to escape their own country.

This isn't a new idea. The United States has known about the criminal element and gangs that has been stifling economic opportunities in these third world countries for years. What could be done about it is above my pay grade. It just seems to me that if immigration is a problem, the United States is big enough and powerful enough to fix the problem at its roots.

Trump is taking notes for use in 2028 when all else fails.

Trump cuts off his nose to spite his face ~ repeatedly. There's something mentally wrong with him that he can't resist these impulses to alienate the support he needs the most, not just in the U.S. but internationally as well.

Obviously, power has gone to his head, but I think it's going to take a fleet of psychiatrists to figure out the reasons for his petty hatreds and revenge, if anybody even tried.

My opinion is Trump is going to take his mental illness with him to his grave.
