Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville went on a scathing rant Monday over Vice President Kamala Harris's decision to avoid a potential appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast. Joe Rogan claimed to have been in negotiations with the Harris campaign about a potential appearance on the show prior to the presidential election. Both President-elect Donald Trump and Vice President-elect JD Vance joined the show for lengthy interviews about their campaign before Election Day. Carville said on a Politicon podcast that political strategists such as himself urge candidates to do anything to win an election. "You do anything you can to win, understand that," he said. "There's nothing, nothing more important than winning elections". Carville accused the Harris's "younger progressive staffers" of throwing a "hissy fit" while the vice president was mulling an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience.

A Cook County elected official was arrested for drunk driving in Ravenswood earlier this month, according to Chicago police. Board of Review Commissioner Samantha Steele was charged with a misdemeanor count of driving under the influence of alcohol after an incident on Nov. 10. Steele, 45, was arrested at 5028 N. Ashland Ave. around 8:49 p.m. Officers responding to the scene found significant front-end damage to a Honda Accord and a Dodge Charger. Steele was lying on the sidewalk near the crash when they arrived, an arrest report states. Steele told officers she had been driving south on Ashland Avenue when the crash occurred. Police said they observed an open bottle of red wine on the floorboard of Steele's car, and noted her eyes appeared "bloodshot and glassy" with a "strong odor of alcoholic beverage" coming from her breath.

Bluesky, the rapidly growing social media platform, is violating EU regulations by failing to disclose important details, a European Commission spokesperson told reporters during a daily briefing on Monday. "All platforms in the EUeven the smallest ones which are below the threshold, which is the case for Bluesky, have to have a dedicated page on their website where it says how many user numbers they have in the EU and where they are legally established. This is not the case for Bluesky as of today," the spokesperson said. He also stated that since Bluesky falls below the threshold and is not classified as a Very Large Platform under the EU's Digital Services Act, the commission has not yet reached out to the company.

President-elect Trump is enjoying a bump in favorability since winning a second White House term earlier this month, while figures for outgoing President Biden sank to a four-year-low, according to a new poll. An Emerson College poll found both men trending in opposite directions, with Trump's favorability jumping six points to 54% after the Nov. 5 election. Biden, on the other hand, has a 36% job approval rating. Disapproval of Biden remains steady at 52%, the poll found. "Trump's favorability varies significantly by gender, race and age," said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling. "Trump's strongest age cohort is among voters 40-59, with 60% viewing him favorably, compared to 48% among those over 70. Notably, his favorability has risen among younger voters, with 55% of those under 30 expressing a favorable opinion." read more
