Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah on Wednesday. Bystanders report seeing Kirk shot near his neck during a Q&A with students. A suspect is in custody, according to a UVU alert sent to students. The campus is on lockdown.

Florida is moving to "end all vaccine mandates" in the state, Florida Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo announced at a press conference on Wednesday. Ladapo said the Florida Department of Health would be working with Gov. Ron DeSantis' office to end all mandates in Florida law, at the event at Grace Christian School in Valrico, located just east of Tampa. "Every last one of them is wrong and drips with disdain and slavery," Ladapo said of vaccine mandates.
As of Sept. 1, 2025, the sale of lab-grown meat has been banned in Texas for two years as part of Senate Bill 261. The law states that "a person may not manufacture, process, possess, distribute, offer for sale, or sell cell-cultured protein."
