We refuse to learn from History, view reading books as some sort of punishment, refuse to accept advice from the experienced and, generally, seem to believe, still, in all that Manifest Destiny bs.

As currently governed, the State of Israel is a boil on this world's butt and none of us will get to sit comfortably until it's lanced.

Johnson County Kansas has pretty highly ranked schools.....but...duh, they are in Kansas....so.....bad schools.....

The Shawnee Mission school district in NE JoCo was one of the best in the country when I attended, early '70s.
Then, consolidation with the rest of the county happened and Republican religious nuts took over the Board of Ed.

They probably came to the US to personally deliver their pardon bribes. And share video.

Across the Great Plains, after sundown, the Mighty 1090, KAAY, Little Rock and Beeker Street.

Too little, too late. The damage has been done and we're going to have to spend their lifetimes getting back to what we had 50 years ago.
Considering who controls pretty much all the sources of information in this country, I'm not optimistic. Happily proved wrong, but skeptical.

Don't forget The Groundhogs.

The US has been ignoring the ICC since they went after Kissinger and has continued to every time we're behind some atrocity in the world.
But, shameless hypocrisy is pretty much our thing.

I love that the Spanish players wouldn't lift the trophy until Hair Fuhrer was out of the picture.

This would seem to be a rather firm refutation of the notion that the private sector can police itself to keep the food supply safe and that we don't need a whole bunch more food inspectors at the FDA.
Ag can't police itself.
Finance can't police itself.
Industry can't police itself.
SCOTUS can't police itself.
The DOJ can't police itself....

Amputees have been learning to use non-dominant hands as long as there have been amputees.

Sounds like the sheriff is angling for more Fed funding.
And his "estimate" about as believable as anything from ICE.

Nothing gets fixed in this country without Campaign Finance reform.
The genocide in Gaza was allowed by Biden because it was happening leading up to the election and, heaven forbid, "leadership" wasn't going to risk the campaign cash and media bashing involved in shutting Bibi down. We could have landed all the aid necessary and dared the Israelis to shoot. And should have.

I wish I could believe there was any substance to this.
A nice display, signifying nothing.

There is no scenario in which letting AI do our thinking for us ends well for anyone but the few at the top.

I have as little problem with reminders of how thoroughly AIPAC abuses our system as I have with reminders of the lack of accountability surrounding Epstein and Co.

Amazing how that number keeps corresponding to Fox' viewership numbers.

I'd like to thank Bill Clinton, here, for setting us all on this road by allowing increased media consolidation during his term.
Once again, Slick Willie screwed us all.
