My wife and I participated in the 'No Kings' rally earlier today, in our case we were down in Laguna Hills (there was no rally in Irvine as they have a rally every Sunday in front of city hall).

There were probably 2,000 to 3,000 people there. It covered the sidewalks, on both sides of the street, for about three city blocks, plus down some of the side streets and in other places where people could gather.

There were a lot of people in costume, inspired I guess by what's been happening in Portland for the last week or so.

Note that it was totally peaceful and there were no counter-protestors.

And my 'Gulf of Mexico' T-shirt was a hit, with many people asking if they could take a picture.

My wife and I, as well as several others from our church, will be marching in today's 'No Kings' rally here in SoCal. While my wife will be carrying a sign with an image of any American flag on it and the phrase, 'Hate Has NO Home Here', I won't be carrying a sign as I'll be taking pictures. However, I will be wearing my 'Gulf of Mexico' T-shirt.

The people who are executing Trump's orders need to keep in mind that while the Supreme Court may have given Donald Trump immunity from prosecution, they haven't included anyone who works for him. All have to do is look back at the Nixon scandals. Nixon was pardoned, but at least 20 members of his administration or were part of his campaigns went to jail.

This is not going to play well during the shutdown, not when government employees are going without pay and millions are on the verge of losing their healthcare coverage. Trump appears to be putting the welfare of Argentinians ahead of Americans, all in an attempt to keep Milei in office.

I'm sure that this issue will be revisited during the upcoming mid-term elections, and perhaps even sooner during the various off-year elections being held less than a month from now.

P.S. My wife and I have already voted (we deposited our ballots in a drop-box this past Sunday and we've already been notified that our ballots have been collected, verified and that they will be counted) in California's 'Prop 50' special election.

Surely, all of the compassionate conservatives will be along shortly to explain how their texts have been "taken out of context".

Even if what Trump's DOJ says is 100% true, the most that James could have benefited is around $50/month in reduced interest, which over the life of the loan would amount to approximately $19,000. How much is it going to cost the taxpayers to adjudicate this case, particularly if it goes to trial? And the DOJ is also demanding that if they prevail and get a conviction, that James would have to pay restitution and be sentenced to 30-years in prison. How does this punishment fit the 'crime'?

And this is all predicated on proving, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the James KNEW at the time that she purchased the home and applied for the mortgage that she was doing so as an investment. That being said, she specially stated on the loan application that the house was NOT going to be used as a her primary residence, but rather that she was buying it so that her niece would have a place to live.

My fear is that if all of the hostages, both living and dead, are returned, that Netanyahu will see this as a green light to destroy what's left of a Gaza, if for no other reason than to create the opportunity where Jared Kushner and his Saudi investors will be able to come in and develop what Trump has always seen as the ideal location for a world class Mediterranean Luxury Resort complete with golf courses and condo villages, not for the Palestinians of course, but for the rich and famous. The Palestinians will just need to find some other place to live, or they can become the a 'servant class' for those who will now be occupying what was once their home.
