I was IEEE card carrying member for a minute there when I thought it would help with the job search. IEEE Spectrum was easily the best magazine my dad had coming to the house. It's a shame what the Internet has done to the long format and the associated attention span.

If my paper ever get revisited, it will be by me, to apply new and better methods (autocorrect had ethics which fortunately isn't an issue in plant biology) to the data I butchered. Plus it's the only way my original work would ever get a citation, so that's a nice target of opportunity.

I could put my kids in the softest Catholic school and then go sit on that school board.
