In my time bigly.... Many, MANY were radicalized and moved to action by this... Action that stopped the war and eventually got rid of the despicable president... 4 (Four) were shot dead... Nobody took responsibility and nobody was held accountable... Happening now... Hoping for similar results.

once upon a time my 9th grade teacher had written on the blackboard:

"Who are the Viet Cong?"

I did not have a clue....

I'm pretty sure a lot of the boys 3 or 4 years older didn't either... diff was they were headed over....

to my mind, one sad parallel between the middle east "crises" of these past many years and the now long ago Vietnam / southeast Asia "domino theory" era of confrontations is the willingness of the general public to support the commitment of vast "blood and treasure" with very little knowledge or understanding of the people or their cultures involved....

but but then how do you do your Koreadates...
