Precedent was broken by trump's coup attempt, therefore anything resulting from it is also unprecedented.

Trump (and his whole cult) act like prosecuting a leader is what makes us a third world country.

In reality, NOT prosecuting a criminal leader is what WOULD make us a third world country.

There will be some blowback from American allies about breaking our own unwritten rule about prosecuting a former president. Or worse yet, putting one in prison. America has always been above that kind of thing.

Not that they won't be happy to get Trump out of their hair, not to mention saving NATO. It's just that America has always been a shinning beacon for the world to follow, they're a little shocked that America is having the same problem they, themselves, have had with their own corrupt leaders.

Well, they're not alone. We're a little shocked ourself. How in the Hell did we let an enemy of the United States get their hooks into us?

We didn't dodge the bullet. Trump got a half million americans killed with his covid incompetence, destroyed our credibility, blew up the debt, turned us into a joke, and ended the peaceful transition of power.
