Get ready for nasty layoffs, end of 4-day work week

Economic concerns could lead to layoffs and reduced remote work opportunities in the US. A weaker-than-expected jobs report could give cover to CEOs who want to reconsider work policies. But reverting to traditional work models could harm productivity and employee morale.

It's interesting companies laying off on a possibility. I can only imagine they are overloaded.

X is hiring gang busters. Many AI companies are hiring people to create the data needed for theif LLM. I don't know what will happen to them once the models are refined.

Google gets hammered in Search, perhaps creating new companies to compete and enter the business.

Perhaps the Fed drops a few points, and the economy is off to the races.

@#1 ... It's interesting companies laying off on a possibility. I can only imagine they are overloaded. ...

Tech companies had significant layoff a year or two ago. lemme what I can find...

There's this...

Google, Meta, Amazon and other tech companies have laid off more than 104,000 employees in the last year (January 2023)
www.cnbc.com

... Key Points

The tech industry has seen a string of layoffs in the face of uncertain economic conditions.

Meta announced a fresh round of cuts on Tuesday, impacting 10,000 employees.

Layoffs come as digital advertisers are cutting back on spending and rising inflation curbs consumer spending. ...

... Many AI companies are hiring people to create the data needed for theif LLM. ...

Huh? The data to fed to the AI LLMs is scraped from the web and elsewhere, not created by people hired by AI companies. Even the pre-training of AI uses already existing data.

AI companies are not hiring people to create data.

OK, my current question, why did the latter current alias seem to respond to something poised to the former current alias?

Weird.
