... Stellantis said Monday it is recalling 194,000 plug-in hybrid electric Jeep SUVs to address fire risks after 13 fires were reported, and it told owners to park outside and away from other vehicles until recall repairs are completed.

The Italian-American automaker is recalling some 2020 through 2024 model year Jeep Wrangler and 2022 through 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee plug-in hybrids. The issue involves a battery component, the company said.

OK, let's take a step back here ...

I have a couple of thoughts....

If you have a garage, and that garage is the typical ~under the house~ garage, do you charge your EV in that garage?

Secondarily, and more important in my mind....

How the f**k does the automotive industry expect people to adopt EVs when those EVs seem to have a 20% chance of burning the house down?

I mean, really...

EVs seem to have a 20% chance of burning the house down?

Where does the 20% come from?

Of course, no gasoline vehicle has ever burnt down a house and had to be recalled right?

Democrats want to mandate these things.

Jeep is not a brand that I would ever look to for an electric vehicle.

And stinlerbell is a lyin' fuggin' moron.

@#3 ... Where does the 20% come from? ...

It was a typo. I meant, 1 in 20, or the 5% noted in the article.

Thanks for catching that.

... Of course, no gasoline vehicle has ever burnt down a house ... ,/i>

The EV fires are particularly bad because the batteries burn so intensely.

So here's the amazing thing. The oil that isn't going into running these electric things is causing global consumption to be dropping and oil prices to be lower. They are also lowering the demand for gasoline and therefore dropping your gas prices - except - big oil is playing refinery games creating artificial shortages...

As accurate as the rest of your daily lies, you fuggin loser.

Where does the 20% come from?

Also over what time period?

Every night? Every time its parked?

You can't be an engineer, you don't think.

#10 yeah looking at research, seems like you're more likely to be in and ICE fire over the same timeframe.

@#11 ... Where does the 20% come from? ...

Admitting your current alias is unable to read a thread.

Good to know.

So lame.

Curious, though, that both the BellRinger and the oneironaut aliases both seem to pay attention to this thread with unsubstantiates comments.

Yeah, let's call it curious.
