A Pair of Billionaires Built Powerful Political Machine in Texas

Over the past decade, [two oil billionaires] have built the most powerful political machine in Texas -- a network of think tanks, media organizations, political action committees and nonprofits that work in lock step to purge the Legislature of Republicans whose votes they can't rely on. Cycle after cycle, their relentless maneuvering has pushed the statehouse so far to the right that consultants like to joke that Karl Rove couldn't win a local race these days. Brandon Darby, the editor of Breitbart Texas, is one of several conservatives who has compared Dunn and Wilks to Russian oligarchs. "They go into other communities and unseat people unwilling to do their bidding," he says. "You kiss the ring or you're out."

Wait... Russian oligarchs are mentor/heroes/financiers/role models/ and propaganda mills for Trumpers.

I guess Darby may be one of those Patriot over Party GOPhers. Good for him.

In the end, it comes down to the voters.

There's a reason Republicans hate public education: dumb, smart, machts nichts, but ignorant? The Holy Grail for the GOP.

We either get money out of politics, or we lose our democracy, it is that simple for me. Fascism is the rule of the few over the many, and clearly the Musk;s and Trump's of the world love the "strongman" type of government.

They don't spend this kind of money WITHOUT expecting a return on their investment.

Their goal is to scrap social security, medicare, FDA, USDA, SEC, FAA, FDIC so they can demand even further tax cuts to pad their bank accounts.

Texas--the place that will stop running when the second Trump presidency runs out hundreds of thousands of workers, from Beaumont to El Paso, From San Marcos to Amarillo. Lots of folks down Tejas way will then find out who really runs things there...

They want worker drones just smart enough to run the machines, but just dumb enough to accept everything they say as true.

They want the middle class overworked and overstressed so that they do not have enough free time to actually educate themselves about who is manipulating them and why.

This is an example of why all of the nations of the earth need to tax billionaires out of existence. That much wealth puts too much power into the hands of too few people.
