General Motors pulls plug on robotaxi business

General Motors has announced that it will stop funding the development of the Cruise self-driving taxi. The company says it will now "refocus autonomous driving development on personal vehicles". GM also pointed to the increasingly competitive robotaxi market as a reason for the move.

Stated differently (and imo)...

Mr Musk's view of self-driving cars is flawed, we have done an analysis that has shown the likely lawsuits resulting from self-driving cars will out weigh any potential profits.

Aside:

Have you noticed that the traffic lights in your area now seem to be getting a yellow border around the fram of the light?

Was that done to help robot cars better discern the traffic light?
