I do now and have for a very long time that free trade is the best way to insure peace. Antagonizing Chiba with excessive tariffs is just nore stupidity from Trump who is hardly knowledgeable about world economics.

Same thing could be said about Germany and Japan. Fact is entrance into the exclusive club of economically successful nations should not be restricted by ideology. If the Chinese required 50 years of Communism to escape thousands of years of feudalism then that's what it took but today theu are jist compeditors and America would be smart to meet competition head on not be so frightened by competition that we feel the need to hobble them with tariffs. Let trade be free and let consumers choose whose product they will buy!
In truth, I don't think American CEOs even want tariffs b4cause American ptoducts are still desirable. If antthing tariffs make American products less desirable because we need tariffs to protect them from foreign competition when inventiveness, engineering and design should be the pathways to success. Build a better product....they will come! Realize protectionism just allows businesses wighout new ideas to exist a few more years before they die. Business cannot hide behind protectionism and still be on the cutting edge.
In the end tariffs are simply a hrdge against newer, smarter ideas and products.

Donny has relied his entire life on being able to force small contractors into accepting payment for a fraction of the contract price by refusing payment and then using his wealth to pay lawyers to drag lawsuits out until small businesses were on the verge of bankruptcy.
