Canada: Car Plows Into Filipino Street Festival, Kills Nine

At least nine people were killed and an unknown number were injured when a 30-year-old man drove into a crowd at a Filipino heritage festival in the Canadian city of Vancouver on Saturday. The event celebrates a Filipino martyr who stood up to Spanish colonization in the 16th century. Video shows a young man in a black hoodie with his back against a chain link fence, alongside a security guard and surrounded by bystanders screaming and swearing at him. "I'm sorry," the suspect says, holding his hand to his head. Vancouver has 38,600 residents of Filipino heritage (5.9% of the city's total population).

The Toronto incident is the deadliest vehicle-ramming attack in Canadian history. This maniac in Vancouver came close to outdoing Alek Minassian in Toronto.

Random? Random is more like dropping bricks off an overpass, or a sniper shooting into a completely mixed crowd of 10,000 people. You consider this type of activity an outlier these days? And don't think it's influenced by violent US rhetoric?
