At least nine people were killed and an unknown number were injured when a 30-year-old man drove into a crowd at a Filipino heritage festival in the Canadian city of Vancouver on Saturday. The event celebrates a Filipino martyr who stood up to Spanish colonization in the 16th century. Video shows a young man in a black hoodie with his back against a chain link fence, alongside a security guard and surrounded by bystanders screaming and swearing at him. "I'm sorry," the suspect says, holding his hand to his head. Vancouver has 38,600 residents of Filipino heritage (5.9% of the city's total population).
#8. This isnt even about illegal immigration. It's a random act of violence that occurred in Canada.
The death toll is now eleven with 20 injured. The suspect's name has not been released and the appropriate charges have yet to be filed: www.cbc.ca
