Trump signing EO cutting drug price to match other countries

WASHINGTON, May 11 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday he would sign an executive order to cut prescription prices to the level paid by other high-income countries, an amount he put at 30% to 80% less. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he would sign the executive order on Monday morning to pursue what is known as "most favored nation" pricing or international reference pricing.

The U.S. pays the most in the world for many prescription drugs, often nearly triple that of other developed nations. Trump has said he wants to close that spread, but has not publicly specified how and did not provide details in his post.

"They will rise throughout the World in order to equalize and, for the first time in many years, bring FAIRNESS TO AMERICA!" he said.

"I will be instituting a MOST FAVORED NATION'S POLICY whereby the United States will pay the same price as the Nation that pays the lowest price anywhere in the World," Trump added.

Literally, what policies are the libs going to run on in the midterms? Raising drug prices? Bringing back criminal, wife beating illegal alien gang members? Keeping taxes on tips and over time? Not raising the top marginal tax rate?

The LOWEST poll in RCP that released the cross tabs has Trump at 44% approve, 52% disapprove - but massive oversampled Dems as you are see in their crosstabs. Why would Harris voters make up over 50% of the poll's sample when she got less than 50% of the 2024 popular vote unless the intent is to skew the results. Harris got 48% of the popular vote but almost 53% of this sample - from those that disclosed. That is a +5% overweight. Adjusting the numbers to reflect reality and Trump is basically 50% support - inline with Rasmussen.

Meanwhile...the Democrat party support is in the 20's and tanking because they have members like yourself and NO ONE (outside of your ------ buddies) wants to be associated with you.

Forbidding the government from negotiating was retarded. Blindly accepting that the US accept pricing 3x the rest of the world is also retarded. Are you afraid they will drop you down to $12/hour with their drop in profits? You could always switch to washing lettuce and get a 50% pay raise.

he would sign an executive order to cut prescription prices

What drug companies are subject to EO's?

Zero.

"An Executive Order is a signed, published directive issued by the President of the United States to manage operations within the federal government. These orders guide the actions of government officials and agencies, but do not create new laws or override existing federal statutes.

Outside Federal Agencies " The president cannot unilaterally impose legal obligations on private parties through an Executive Order. "

#10 he's not "negotiating," he's using the full force of the federal government to unilaterally influence a free market.

Nothing about that would have been acceptable to a righty president-2016.
